Facebook kills another business

So, this just happened, LittleThings, a digital publisher that relied heavily on Facebook organic reach as their one and only traffic source is closing its doors.

They had 12 million(!) Facebook followers and their videos apparently generated thousands of views.

But the latest algorithm change Facebook made to reduce the exposure and organic reach of Facebook pages in people’s newsfeed took out over 75% of LittleThing’s traffic.

Let that sink in.

If your business is 100% reliant on Facebook (or any other channel, hello Youtube!), then you, your business and your livelihood are at the mercy of someone else.

That’s not the reason why we go into business for ourselves is it? To be at the mercy of someone else?

I hope not.

Now, this doesn’t mean don’t use Facebook or Youtube, no. Please do. BUT…

…don’t 100% rely on them as your main sources of traffic and sales.

So, if you haven’t already, start adding new channels, start doing that as soon as you can.

And if you need help with that, contact us to help you add new traffic channels for your business.
